I've found something lovely.

Firstly, this website, here, is absolutely lovely and I do suggest very very highly that you go and check it out! It's a website for a work in progress magazine for goths where you can submit your own content! It's wonderful, really.

Lastly, I'd like to suggest miss SaraDarleen on YouTube. She's a sweet and beautiful young woman who is an amazing blogger and a wonderful person. Watch her here!

Todays Outfit: Casual Goth

Today I had to work with kids (My mom had a photoshoot, so that means I was employed as help). Eight of them in total, all under ten. So I decided to go with a less dramatic, and more subtle look, as it's both easier to run around in, and less scary to the older ones (I've never had a problem with younger kids being scared of me, oddly).

The makeup for today.

And the accessories.

I ended up being glad that I went for an understated look. The kids were super well behaved and really sweet so chasing them wasn't really a problem. The problem was that they were from Jersey. Like, Jersey Shore, Jersey. I looked a little odd among the white and neon green clad children with naturally Itailian tanned skin and rhinestones all over their clothes. And their mother didn't really know what to think of me, but hey. What else is new. I think it turned out alright considering, and I had fun.
I think I may do a tutorial for this makeup as well... I really like the black and purple. It's one of my favorite combinations.

Happy Birthday Simon Gallup!

Today is Simon Gallup's (bassist of The Cure's) fifty-second birthday. He is the second longest serving member of the band, and is also ridiculously close to Robert Smith even though they fought a lot in the past due to having terribly clashing personalities. He's pretty cute too. ;)

A small intro and the jewelry I bought today.

So, my name is Cicada Elizabeth. I'm seventeen years old and I'm going to be a senior in high school after this summer and after that I plan on going to cosmetology school. I just can't stay away from makeup/hairdye.
I've been interested in the Goth subculture for years (since I was twelve/thirteen) and due to issues with my family, have not been able to really show it. Though I did try very hard to do so as subtly as possible.

A picture from when I was thirteen.
I really wish I knew where that stripey shirt went.

I've grown quite a bit since then, and my mother and I see eye to eye alot better than we did previously. Now, being almost eighteen and well on my way to getting somewhere eventually, I have decided to really delve into the subculture I have loved so dearly from afar all these years. I plan to record my first steps as a right BabyBat in this blog, and really get some where with it. At least, that's what I'm hoping for.

Me a few days ago.
I'm really working hard to figure this all out.

Now, on to the jewelry I bought today (Rarely do I buy jewelry for myself, so this is kind of a big deal for me).
First, I bought a bat skeleton necklace at Spencers:

It pretty much killed two birds (CoughBatsCough) with one stone here, as I really love both bones and bats. Yes, I realize that's a cliche, nope, I don't care. I love them regardless, and I am very happy with this purchase.
Then I bought a set of dragon earrings::

These are probably pretty cliche as well, but I love dragons, and I really don't have any earrings to wear with anything. Either way, you'll probably see a lot more of these babies in my outfit videos!

Thanks for reading,
